At Selborne House you can expect those assessing your care needs to listen and take account of your views of how those needs are best met. If you wish you can have a friend, relative or other person of your choice present to support you or speak on your behalf. You can also expect assistance with communication if required.
All Service Users have the right to receive clear information about any proposed treatment including any risks involved and any alternative treatment that may be available.
Service Users are able to ask for an explanation in plain language and ask for more information if the explanation is not understood.
All Service Users can expect to be told about any drugs that are prescribed including any side effects and other treatments that are available other than medication.
what kind of support will I get?
At Selborne House the therapeutic programme is centred on your needs, including community rehabilitation, which is supported by an individual programme.
The approach of Selborne House is to facilitate treatment in a flexible manner and cater for the individual needs and abilities.
Many social and recreational activities will be organized and we will make every effort to accommodate each person’s interests and hobbies.
Our social activities will include swimming, bowling, cinema, shopping, local town trips, outings and trips to places of interest, planned holidays and home visits as well as social events within the home.
A full activities programme will be displayed in the home.
Packages of care will be developed based on individual assessments and will be subject to regular review.
Risk is assessed prior to admission and reviewed on a regular basis throughout the admission and treatment process.
